The pUKEs are a ukulele anti-society for punks based in London. We play songs by the likes of Dead Kennedys, Exploited, Xray Spex, The Damned, etc like you never heard ‘em before.

We first started meeting in January 2011 at our local pub, the Royal Sovereign, to have a few pints and bash out our favourite tunes on the ukulele. But we soon found ourselves in demand, playing gigs, festivals and punks picnics in London and beyond.

Around half the pUKEs were ‘non musicians’ before we learned the uke, the other half have been in bands such as UK Subs, Extreme Noise Terror, PMT, Lost Cherrees, ATV, Rabies Babies, Social Schism and the Triads.
